Jamie Ryan Scott Brooks (born November 25, 1985) is an American director, writer, and visual effects artist. He is best known for the short-form psychological thriller Devil Has My Ear (2012), in which he won Best Director at the Lone Star Emmy Awards of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is slated to direct the true crime drama (Bomb City ) based on the story of Brian Deneke in 2015. ==Biography== Brooks grew up in Amarillo, Texas. He got his start in filmmaking by purchasing his first camcorder at age 16, and then filming his friends skateboard and BMX. After a few years his work, both behind the camera and on his bike, started appearing on national television outlets that had shows featuring Action Sports, specifically MTV's show Scarred, Fox Sports show (Blue Torch ), and Shook Interactive Video Zine. Brooks went to film school at the University of North Texas. He is now known for his narrative-driven, visual effects heavy music videos, commercials, and films. Brooks co-owns the production company (3rd Identity ).
